A book of cannabis business can be built with a very low or even nonexistent marketing budget. The key to retaining cannabis clients is to consistently create educational content that answers the questions that inevitably come up in regards to state and local regulations, corporate governance, and other cannabis-related legal issues. All too often attorneys keep this type of information tight to their chest for fear of giving away the farm and obviating a client’s need to retain their services. The reality, however, is that creating in-depth content that genuinely aims to shed light on common cannabis legal issues highlights how much goes into building a cannabis business and how necessary legal services really are. And this is not a theoretical exercise–I personally built a sizable book of cannabis business prior to going in-house utilizing this principle and $0 spent in advertising/marketing.
