Welcome! This course covers the state licensing process in California for the following license types:
- Type 9 Non-Storefront Retail (Delivery)
- Type 10 Storefront Retail
The course provides regulatory references in each section, but for reference, the full set of Bureau of Cannabis Control Regulations can be found here.
This course will also provide an overview and approach to licensing at the local level. While this course focuses on the state license application process, the information learned throughout will be transferable and therefore invaluable to students as they tackle local license applications.
Each section of the course covers a critical component of the storefront and non-storefront cannabis retail licensing process. Most sections are comprised of three lessons:
- Introduction & Overview
- Guide
- Optional Reading
The Introduction & Overview lesson in each section provides baseline information, as well as an in-depth analysis of a given lesson’s topic. The Guide lesson consolidates all of the information presented in the Introduction & Overview section and serves as a quick reference checklist for students. References are provided for each question, as well as the full text of relevant regulations. Finally, the Optional Reading lesson provides real world examples that illustrate the concepts covered by a section.
Please bear in mind that the information provided throughout the course does not represent the only answers to the questions presented in the application. Be sure to read through the relevant regulations and answer according to your specific set of circumstances, and consult with a cannabis attorney where necessary. Also, be sure to consult both the Introduction & Overview and Guide as the information contained in both lessons compliment one another.
