Content marketing is key to bringing in new cannabis or hemp clients and ultimately building a brand in either industry as an attorney. The most common mistake attorneys make when it comes to building a brand with content typically has nothing to do with the content itself, however. Rather, cannabis and hemp attorneys often do not spend enough time strategically distributing the content they produce. To build a brand in the hemp or cannabis space, attorneys should be distributing their content on as many platforms (website, social media, paid advertising, podcasting) as humanly possible, and should make sure that the content is contextual to each platform. Hemp and cannabis attorneys should also learn as much as they possibly can about digital marketing on their own (website design, search engine optimization, social media, paid advertising, etc.) to ensure a consistent message across the board rather than solely relying on outside marketing professionals. The quality of the content AND the manner in which that content is distributed will ultimately dictate whether a hemp or cannabis attorney is able to build a brand.
